A/N: Draco and Ginny plus all Harry Potter names and ideas are not mine.I wish they were. They belong to Warner Brothers who have much deeper pockets than I do. Plot is mine. More of the other stories when I return from vacation.
Could It Be Magic
Ginny smiled softly as she sat watching the children play in the Trevi Fountain.Twirling her spoon in the rapidly melting gelato, she laughed at the antics of one child in particular who was obviously enjoying himself by completely drenching his friends.Tearing her gaze from the children, she stared down at the letter in her hands.
Harry was getting married and had invited her to the wedding. "Harry," she sighed quietly, the soft whisper over shadowed by the voices of those around her.He was marrying, of all people, Clarissa Snape, a distant cousin of their old potions professor. In Hermione’s letter, which also arrived that morning, her friend strongly implied that the sudden wedding was due to the new manager of the Cannons and the Boy Who Lived welcoming a new arrival in less than nine months.Ginny laughed as she realized that Harry’s son or daughter, if there was one on the way, would be starting Hogwarts the same year as Ron and Hermione’s latest production."The new generation of the Three Musketeers so to speak," Ginny thought, smiling.
"Look at those freckles!" Ginny exclaimed, a few people looking at her strangely.Baby Dianna had the most freckles of any of Ron’s kids, which now included Kevin, Michael, Kelly, Mary and baby Dianna.Apparently, from the letter Ginny received last week while she was in Morocco on assignment, Ron has been pushing for another boy. "And Hermione, if I know my sister-in-law at all, will be all too happy to give it to him, no matter how many tries it takes!" Ginny laughed silently.Smiling at the children kin the water, Ginny though about her brother and his wife.Hermione, surprising as it seemed to all the Weasley family, had instantly embraced parenthood."She’s taken to it like a duck to water...or rather, taken and taken and taken..." Ginny thought, shaking her head happily.
"Anyone sitting here?"
Ginny grinned up at the man standing across from her, the bright sunlight behind him casting his face into shadows and glinting off his light hair. She waited to reply, knowing what was coming next.
"Do you mind if I sit down? There aren’t any other tables, or seats for that matter, available," the man explained, already pulling the chair out.
"You’ve become rather presumptive, sir. There could be a tall handsome man calling that chair his own," Ginny chided teasingly, removing her feet from her sandals and stretching her legs so her feet were resting in his lap.
"Like you’ve ever been able to say no to me," Draco drawled knowingly, rubbing her feet gently.
"Oh that feels good.I guess you can stay," Ginny smiled happily.
"Too much shopping, love?"
"Ha ha," Ginny mocked, knowing he knew she had been shopping for his birthday."Are you hungry?"
"Fed us at the meeting," Draco replied, leaning over the table and looking curiously at her melted ice cream. "What was that?"
"Strawberry gelato," Ginny laughed, watching as he dipped his finger in and then licked it off."You want one?"
"They have chocolate?" Draco asked expectantly.
"You know chocolate is for licking and not eating, heart," Ginny drawled seductively as Draco grinned at her, a mischievous look in his eyes as he leaned further across the table.
"Well, then it depends on who and what you plan to lick from?" Draco whispered huskily, lifting Ginny’s hand off the table and massaging the fleshy part of her palm.
Ginny winked and whispered playfully, "I’ll lick anything you want me to lick." Jumping to his feet, Draco nearly knocked his chair backwards. Dropping money onto the table, he pulled Ginny to her feet."Ouch, watch honey," Ginny scolded, rubbing her stomach where it had collided with the edge of the table.
"Oh gods, are you OK?" Draco asked, instantly concerned.Laying his hand on her abdomen, he frowned, "Is he all right?"
"He’s fine," Ginny smiled. "I’m the bruised one," she kidded, sighing when Draco looked back at her worriedly."I’m joking.I’m fine, really.Just teasing.Where were we?"
Draco looked at her warily, "Getting out of here.Do you wanna or should I..."
Ginny looked at the small blonde head resting on the table."I don’t know how she can sleep like that..."Grabbing the baby bag, Ginny let Draco lift the sleeping child out of the high chair."Might as well just carry her back to the hotel. The stroller is full of your gifts anyway."
Draco jostled the child slightly but she simply tightened her arms around his neck, pressing her face against his shoulder.Smiling contentedly, he laughed, "Hope you got me some good stuff, wife."
"Now, where could Savannah get her impatience from?" Ginny asked rhetorically."And don’t you dare say me!"
"Who would ever call you impatient?" Draco questioned in mock seriousness. He grabbed the stroller with his free hand and rolled it away from the table slightly. They started walking, Ginny helping to push the carriage."You’re just the one who suggested marriage after two weeks of togetherness, had a baby nine months, to the day I might add, after the wedding..."
"OK, so I am impatient for some things," admitted Ginny slyly."But only things having to do with you."
Draco smiled smugly and let go of the stroller, before grabbing Ginny’s hand and pulling her close to him. Forced to stand sideways because of the baby and their sleeping daughter, it didn’t prevent him from kissing her softly."You’ve got good taste then," he whispered against her mouth before kissing her again.
"Yeah," Ginny sighed, raising herself on tiptoes to kiss him again."What are you doing tonight?"
"Having dinner with you," Draco answered quietly, his hand moving from holding hers to running though her hair, the others on the street ignored."Let me ask you something."
"There is chocolate ice cream in the hotel’s mini-bar," Ginny grinned, nipping at his bottom lip.
"No, well, I am glad you are still thinking about that.I wasn’t planning on letting you forget," Draco laughed, leaning his head against Savannah’s."What are you doing for the rest of your life?"
"Having dinner with you," Ginny responded happily, grinning so broadly her nose wrinkled.
"That’s what I was hoping," Draco smiled as he intertwined his fingers with hers and stared into her eyes. "That’s what I was hoping."
