That’s How Love Moves

A/N: Hey don’t blame me! I’ve discovered that I really like doing Songfics, and the songs keep coming my way! And I like D/G, so it’s a whole shipper thing! This is another song be Faith Hill, which by the way, has really nice songs on her album ‘Breathe’. There’s another song too, from her album, which I’m planning to do a D/G romance too. Like I said, I like Songfics and D/G!

Disclaimer: Well, nothing is mine, really, so will ya stop making me feel bad? The song is sung by Faith Hill (as said in A/N) and HP characters belong to J. K. Rowling. Nothing, I repeat, is mine.

It's such a mystery
How you found something in me
That I never knew was there
But you uncovered it so easily
You turned me like a season, and I began to change
You wrapped your arms around me
Now I’ll never be the same

Draco Malfoy started back from the hospital wing. He had gotten into another fight with Harry Potter, and as Crabbe and Goyle weren’t there with him, had surfaced on the losing end of it. As seemed to often be lately, or every since he met Potter, for that matter. Perfect Potter, lover of Mudbloods, and Halfbloods. Perfect Potter, hero and saint. That old fool Dumbledore favoured him, that was the only reason he did well in Hogwarts. Perfect Potter, running round the school with his two sidekicks, the mudblood and Weasley. Hah, they weren’t any good, though. They should face it, Weasleys weren’t good for anything. Muggle loving, poor and with no sense of wizarding pride at all. And the name ‘mudblood’ spoke for itself. He had given Potter the chance, the chance to be something, and he had it thrown back into his face. But who bloody cared, anyway. Then he felt something, or rather someone, collide into him.

"Bloody watch out!" he snarled, ready to lash out at the un-suspecting person. But what he saw wasn’t quite what he expected. Flaming red hair caught his eyes. Of course, many associated red hair with the Weasleys, as he did. And, he hated the Weasleys!... right? This had to be a Weasley. And so he hated her. Right?

"Hey, you should have seen me coming," the little Weasley girl spoke, and he tore his eyes away from her hair, meeting her eyes.

"You ran into me," he told her, softly, threatening her.

"Well, I," Ginny paused, to think of a good response, but it was too late, Draco started speaking again.

"I suppose you’re going to visit Potter." It was a statement, not a question.

"Maybe I am," Ginny told him angrily, "And if I am, why do you care? And why do you hate Harry so much, anyway?"

"Why do you hate Harry so much," Draco mimicked, in a whiny tone, "Why do you love Potter so much?" he retorted, emphasizing the ‘love’.

"I... I..." her voice trailed off. She did have a schoolgirl crush on Harry, but in this case it had lasted for 6 years. She could now manage to be in the same room with him and not break anything, but her face always flushed red at any thought or talk, whether with or about him.

"Weak, really," Draco commented, "loving someone who so clearly had no feeling for you. As it is, I highly doubt he even notices you are around. You’re much better off worshiping someone else."

"Really," Ginny spat back, "And who do you suggest I worship? You?"

"Perhaps," Draco smirked, "at the very least, I’m a more worthy person,"

"So now I’m supposed to follow you around, like a infatuated worshiper?" Ginny was mad now, and seeing a mad Weasley was really quite a sight, "now I’m supposed to kiss the ground you walk on, right. Because you said so."

"Now, now, I’m sure there are better places for you to kiss," Ginny was shocked, why had he said that? It sounded seductive, if nothing else. But why? She attempted to clear her thoughts, and answered quickly.

"And you’ve got ideas?" she cocked her hear and looked at him.

It seemed that the little Weasley had some spine after all, Draco thought, amused. She was very pretty, actually, and her red hair didn’t seem unusual in a bad way, it was more unique, in a very, very attractive sort of way. It was bright, and stood out easily. Made you notice her. And she had an extremely pretty face, really pretty indeed, Draco mused, before slapping himself mentally. She was a darn Weasley, for goodness sakes. But still very pretty... arghh! But before he could stop himself, he pulled her to him and murmured, "I can think of a few." Then he kissed her.

"Ginny!" They quickly moved apart to the cry of an infuriated Ron, with Harry and Hermione following him. "Malfoy! Get your stinking self away from my sister!" Apparently, he had been released from the Hospital Wing too. He swung a punch at Draco, but it was dodged easily.

"I could easily hex you now, Weasley, but I won’t. It’s not worth my time." He smirked at the threesome, before shooting a real smile, a real smile, at Ginny. Then he walked off, knowing there were some pretty surprised people behind. Now why had he done that? Why hadn’t he hit or hexed them? A floating face of a pretty red headed girl floated in front of him. Ahhh, there it was, his answer.

That's how love works
That's how love moves
Like a river running through you
Sometimes it lifts you
As high as heaven
It consumes you
That's a given
That's how love moves

"Give that back to me!" Draco heard the shouts of someone who could only have been a girl. Moving closer, he saw Crabbe and Goyle standing over Ginny, holding her books over their head. She was jumping to try and reach them, but they were much taller then her. He felt a sense or protectiveness overcome him, and he rushed forward.

"Give them back to her," he snapped at them. They looked surprised, but as always, they listened to him and gave him the books, "Now go away," he added, "and don’t bother her again." He watched their retreating backs, and turned to Ginny. "You all right?" he asked her, quietly, kindly.

"I’m fine. And thanks. Why... why did you help me?"

"Well... y’know, I really don’t know."

"Y’know, I really don’t know. Interesting manner of speech." Ginny laughed, and Draco realised he really liked her laugh. "Why did you..." Ginny blushed, "Why did you kiss me last time?"

"Y’know, I really don’t know." He told her, grinning. She grinned back, and started to laugh again. "I meant what I said last time," he told her softly.

"When you said what?" She asked him.

"When I said that you were better off loving someone who would love you back."

"And you know someone who fits that description?" Draco smirked and nodded,

"Someone, who say, might be standing by me now?"

"You catch on quickly," he told her, "Yes, you agree with me?"

"Maybe..." And then, Ginny stepped forward, and kissed him.

I've seen walls that could never be broken
Come tumbling down
I've heard the voice of a love calling
Without making a sound
See, I was touched by an angel
The day she took my hand
And you know, she's a miracle
That makes me everything I am

Draco held Ginny close to him. "Gin,"

"Uh huh?"

"Thanks," receiving a questioning look, he continued, "for giving me a chance."

"Hey, you were worth it. You are worth it. And the look on Ron’s face was worth it!"

They grinned at each other.

"Gin?" Draco started again.

"Mmm?" She murmured.

"You’re my angel. I love you." She looked surprised at his sudden statement, but laughed and hugged him,

"Yeah. I love you too. You’re a terrible git, but I love you too." She looked at him solemnly, then laughed. And he laughed. And they laughed together, their laughs blending into a smooth sound, one sound.
