I am the soul of the lost
I reach out for your touch
Your arms are wide an accepting
And yet I am still here
Overshadowed in dispair
When will it come clear
That I miss you dear?
Show me the light
And happiness sight
Tears of Gaia fell down upon her children in all shapes and forms. Whether it be man or beast, all could feel the pain and sadness as each little teardrop fell. That was how I felt now, as I stared dismally out the window. It was getting so much better but suddenly, it took a sharp turn for the worst. He was always there, each scene in my head was him looking like some heavenly angel with those stormy gray eyes and touchable pale blond hair. He looks so much like Draco Malfoy, yet I know it wasn't him. He had no name. He was my nameless lover, soon to be husband. I saw the ring on her finger, yet it wasn't there before. (I call myself her in those dreams since I'm not me, but a characyer in a play. At least, that is what it seems like.) Those were the happier dreams. Hopeless dreams that would do me no good now, just make me miserable and yearn for it to be real.
I clutched the same ring from my dreams in the palm of my hand. The tarnished ring was still very beautiful, with it's rose cut diamond and intertwining sapphires with miniture diamonds at the white golden band. This small, priceless piece of jewelry was what had dampened my mood. Everything I had thought to believe are false, just because of the existance of such a ring.
"Not real. Not real at all." I said to nobody in particular, as if traumatized.
"What's not real?"
I looked questioningly towards the voice. It's owner, shrouded in the shadows, walked away from the looming bookself and made his way towards me.
"Daydreaming again, I see." He smiled softly at me, his eyes looking at me, sarcastically.
"I sighed, not in the mood to yell. "What is it Malfoy?"
"What's not real?" he repeated, slightly agitated.
I held out the ring for him to see.
"That's some ring, Weasley. Where'd you steal it? That costs more than your house."
I ignored is snide comment. "This shouldn't be real." I told him calmly."
"You better believe it's real. Is that diamond real? It's huge! Looks familiar too..."
"Familiar how?" I asked him suspiciously.
He made a grab for the ring. As soon as he did, he turned white and very rigid. He looked very close to fainting. Confusion flickered in his eyes but was quickly suppressed with coldness. He looked at the ring angrily and did something unexpected. He opened the window behind me and tossed the ring onto the muddy lawns below. I cried out in surprise, practically diving out the window to save it. Draco held me back, a look of satisfaction written all over his face.
"If you know what's good for you Ginny, don't go looking for it. Forget it. Like you said earlier, it wasn't real."
Before I could protest, he turned around and left the quiet library.
I contemplated on the situation: look for the ring and figure out the dreams or forget about. There was one thing that I didn't take very well and those were orders.
If muggles were in the same circumstances as I am, they would be down on all fours, searching franticaly for the ring. I was a witch and didn't have to do that.
Looking at the area where the ring had fallen. I took out my wand and whispered, "Accio ring."
The ring appeared, drenched with mud and a piece of grass from the impact. Grabbing it, I stuffed the ring into my pocket and ran back inside the castle. There Malfoy stood, smirking that inferior grin of his.
"I knew you were going to chase after it."
"If you knew, then why bother tossing it out the window?" I said haughtily.
He shivered slightly before answering, "Let's just say I had a sudden urge to distroy it. I still do in fact."
"By tossing it out the window?" I said disbelievingly.
"I have my reasons Weasley. Get rid of the ring. It doesn't even belong to you!" he sneered.
I looked at him in surprise, "So you know who owns it then?"
"Why would a poor Weasley have that expensive ring? It's just like putting water and oil together. They don't mix, just like us."
"For you're information Draco Malfoy, I was given the ring." I said angrily.
"By who?" he mocked.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out until YOU showed up!" I screamed.
"You there, no screaming in the halls. Five points from whatever house you're in." a bossy voice called out to them. "Oh, it's just you. Having a private conversation or something?" joked Hermione as she stood next to the scowling pair.
"Actually," he said smoothly, "I was just leaving." He walked off the dark hallway and was gone.
"He didn't even stay to talk. Oh well. See you at dinner Ginny." she said with a look of boredom upon her face. "Maybe Ron will be better company than Draco. Malfoy's been so moody these past couple of days..." Her voice trailed off as she thought to herself.
"Bye Hermione." I said and rushed toward the 6th Year dorm room.
I fell onto my bed, holding the ring above me lazily. "Why are you so special?" I thought out loud.
Slipping it on one of my fingers, (which I later realized to be my ring finger) I was transported to the seashore with a waning moon overhead. Blue and yellow stars twinkled joyously as I watched in awe. The serene scene was so beautiful that I didn't even realize the figure next to me until now. A soft baritone voice sung a sweet song, written especially for me. I looked straight ahead, smiling slightly as he yanked on my hand.
"My Princess?" he whispered purposely. I turned around from the sea and stared into the man's silver eyes. I was shocked to see him on one knee, a black box raised above his head as a offering, an offering of his love.
"My Princess, we are upon hard times and I hate to see you so distressed. I love you more than anything, maybe even more than the very air I breathe. You would make me the happiest little beggar if you would become my wife."
I laughed merrily, "Stand my Prince and beg no more. I'll make you the happy beggar that you are, and accept."
He lifted me up with his strong arms and twirled me around, deliriously happy with my answer.
"My Love, how I love you so."
I smiled happily as I leaned against his chest, "From now on, we are one."
"Yes, one with the moon above us."
I looked at him quizically, "Whatever do you mean by that?"
The voices an the scene began to fade away until I was back in my own room. I removed the gold ring with ease off my finger and grinned. They were so adorable! If only something that romantic would happen to me and not in my dreams. I glanced at the ring again, realizing what had just happen. The ring gave me a vision that was similar to my dreams! I shoved the ring back on and awaited the visions to come forth as it had before, yet nothing happened. Sighing in disappointment, I took it off and placed it on my nightstand.
Olivia, Tiffany, and Michele entered the dorm, all three of them giggling uncontrollably. They suddenly noticed their fourth roommate walked over to my bed.
"Oh Ginny! You missed dinner. You should've been there. They announced that we're going to have a Midnight Garden Party in a few weeks." grinned Michele.
"Only 6th and 7th Years. None of the younger ones are allowed, even as a date." added on Olivia.
"And the best part is..." giggled Tiffany, "That we already have dates with some hot 7th Years!"
"And you want to know the really good part?" beamed Olivia.
Somehow, I was dreading the answer.
"What's the good part?"
"We got you a date too! You, Gin, are going with the notorious Draco Malfoy! Of course, we did just say a friend of ours needed someone to go with. So since he's Head Boy and the role model to the whole school, he sorta accepted..." Tiffany mumbled out the last part.
"Shush Tiffany! You weren't supposed to tell her that part." frowned Michele.
"Yeah, smooth move 'Fany." laughed Olivia as she looked at my shocked face.
"Don't call me that!" shrilled Tiffany.
"Please tell me you all are joking." I moaned as I closed the drapes around my bed.
Michele's face peeped through the edges of the fabric, "We thought you'd be happy Ginny. We didn't mean to make you mad." she sniffed as a fat tear rolled down her tanned skin. That was Michele for you, always dramatic about life itself, and a very good actress.
"Don't worry about it. I guess I could use some type of glamour spell so he won't know who I am..." I pondered.
Olivia jumped onto my bed, followed by Tiffany and Michele. We formed a small circle on the full sized bed and began to plan for the party.
"Ginny, you should wear a forest green fabric, maybe with some gold accents as well. It'll go good with that untamable hair of yours." scrutinized Tiffany.
"Speaking of hair, we could go by that new hair salon and get our hair, makeup, and nails done! It'll be so much easier than doing it ourselves like last year." Michele shivered at the memory.
"Oh, I don't think I can do that..." I blushed as I thought of the price for new dress robes, not to mention everything else they were planning.
"No worries Gin! I'm paying as an early Christmas present." winked Michele.
Olivia and Tiffany pouted, "Will you pay for us too? Our parents won't give us that much money to spend on some garden party."
Michele looked at her friends wearily, "Why do I have a feeling you all are taking advantage over me being rich?"
Everyone laughed at her statement. "Cause you're so nice and sweet."
After several more minutes of aimless chattering, everyone got to their respective beds and fell asleep. I was the only one awake as I worried over what I might see in my dreams. I had a feeling tonight was going to show me something I would rather skip out on, and I just hate it when I was right like that.
I walked around the room, my body swaying to the soft music, and humming ever so quietly to myself. He was here, amongst the many gathered for the event. I smiled adoringly at my ring, the ring of our love.
Suddenly, I was whisked away to the dance floor. I instantly knew who it was.
"A beautiful woman such as yourself should not be dancing alone like you were doing." he joked.
I giggled, "I was looking for you. What kept you?"
His face darkened and pulled me aside. "Promise me, Love, that you would be on guard at all times and trust no one."
"Surely I can trust you and my parents."
"Me, yes, but not your parents. They won't understand." he replied.
We stood in silence, each unsure on what to say next. He kissed my cheek softly and mumbled comforting words in the ancient language; soothing words that eased my soul. Grabbing hold of my hand, he smiled at the ring he had given me. I was his, and he was mine.
"Things are getting worse, aren't they?" I mumbled, already knowing the answer.
"Nothing for you to worry over, Princess. Just think about your normal life and everything but that."
I looked around the glass room. Everyone looked so happy, dancing and chattering away. If only they knew what was going on...
"Excuse me, Love. People will get suspicious if we stand here any longer. I will search you out later." I gave him my cheerful smile and he was satisfied.
"Yes, of course. They wouldn't want me to be hogging you all to myself, even if you are my fiancee." he replied sarcastically. Caressing my cheek, he kissed my forehead and was gone.
Sighing at his sudden departure, I made way towards the refreshments.
"They are stupid if they think we can live in peace with them."
I looked to the small group right next to me. Sipping my fruit punch, I strained my ears so I could here their conversation further.
"We need to try. Many more like us are coming about into the world, and most of them don't accept it. With this treaty, we can live in peace." said a rather slim woman dressed in yellow robes and her blond locks held up with deathly black ribbons.
Yes, we should try to work this out. Who knows what will happen if we don't." The man who said this had blood red hair, that matched his ruby red robes with gold trimmings.
"You know what will happen. We would live peacefully without them knowing about us." said a rather short woman with curly black hair and navy blue robes. She held the hand of the man who had first caught her attention.
"Exactly. If they don't want to go near us, then we shouldn't go near them. If their children become one of us, they should just live like their parents. Things would be easier that way." The man said in his shallow voice. He had wavy black hair with neat green robes and an eerily beautiful silver cloak about his shoulders.
"That's the part I don't really agree with you." said the black haired woman, "If they are one of us, they should join our society, no matter what. And those other people would not know of our kind."
"Excuse me." I said, interrupting the group from their argument. "Are you, by any chance, wizards?"
"Yes, we are. Are you going to run to your mummy now, like the rest of your kind?" snarled the green robed man.
I ignored his remark. "I was hoping you would know a person named --- Malfei."
"Of course I know him. He's my cousin." snarled the man. "And my step-brother." added on the black haired woman.
I was surprised. "Really? So you know why he's so upset?"
"Upset? Far from it. Last time I saw him, he was extremely happy. He just proposed you know." smiled the black haired woman.
"Who are you anyway?" asked the green robed man.
I smirked at the rude man, "I am the princess and heir to the throne of this land.
"Forgive Slytherin, Princess. He's a bit upset with some matters at hand." said the blond haired woman.
"Yes, my cousin has such a temper. I'm Ravenclaw by the way, Rowena Ravenclaw." said the blue robed figure.
"And I am Godric Gryffindor, at your service." bowed the huge, red headed man.
"Stop sucking up to her, Gryffindor. You just want to get that stupid treaty of yours." said Salizar Slytherin. "And you, Helga Hufflepuff, should not tell our identities to some mudblood, even if she is royalty."
The blond rolled her eyes at his out of place remark. "There he goes, using up those stupid words he makes up..."
I on the other hand was quite offended, "I am not this mudblood as you called me. I am a qualified witch with magic powers, just like all of you." I hissed.
Everyone around the room stopped what they were doing and stared. I blushed as I realized how loud I had said my last statement.
"Poor child. Let me help you out." said a gray haired lady who stood up on the table full of food with a stick in hand.
"Obliverate!"
Most of the people had a blank expression on their faces, but soon it passed and continued on with the activities. The lady pointed out to the hall to the rest of the people who didn't seem affected by her spell, and then stepped down from the table.
"Follow us, Princess. This changes everything." Helga said solemnly.

A bleary eyed Draco appeared at the door to see three very worried Gryffindor girls. He rubbed his forehead and move out of the way to let them in. Hermione entered the common room as well, eyeing the 6th Years curiously.
The Asian girl who he couldn't remember her name, hugged him tightly, tears streaming down her tanned face. "Oh Draco! Something's wrong with Ginny Weasley. She started glowing this bright red color and so we tried waking her up, but she wouldn't. Then, this ring of hers started to glow this sickly green color. And she just won't wake up. She won't wake up at all."
"The lights were what woke us up. Then, she seemed to be struggling against something." said the curly blond haired girl. She had a vegetable name, at least that was all that he remembered.
"She had a smile on her face at first, but she started to scream after awhile. It just doesn't make sense..." said the third member of their group.
"Why did you come to me about this?" he asked them dumbly.
"You're Head Boy! You should know what to do!" shrieked the delirious girl.
"Calm down Michele! Tiffany, tell her to stop crying. Olivia, go wake up Dumbledore and Madame Pomfrey." said Hermione from the far corner of the room.
"Yeah, what she said." Draco said, unsure of himself.
The other two girls headed back to there dorm room, leaving Hermione with Draco.
"The whole school loves you, you know." said Hermione lamely.
"Whatever you say, Hermione."
He was about to step out of the room until Hermione held onto his arm. "What is it, Hermione?" he asked, slightly agitated now by her weird attitude.
"I love you to." she whispered into his ear. He shivered slightly.
"That's nice Hermione, but I don't love you." he shrugged her off and quickly walked off.
He met up with the worried faces of Dumbledore, Madame Pomfrey, and the girl he now knew as Olivia.
"Let's continue on, shall we." said Dumbledore warmly.
They arrived to the girls dorm room to see the frail Ginny Weasley floating atop her bed. Everyone rushed towards her, yet Draco stood back by the door. The three of them passed through the reddish-green light and tried to reach Ginny, but a green light blocked them off.
"What kind of magic is this, Albus?" asked a shocked Madame Pomfrey.
Just then, Professor McGonagell entered the room with Hermione in the lead. Draco hid within the shadows, making sure no one saw him.
"What's wrong with Miss Weasley?" McGonagell stared at her student in bewilderment.
"Oh Ginny! Is she all right?" Hermione rushed towards the girl, only to be repelled against the room.
"Oh Dear. Maybe her brother should come here." suggested Madame Pomfrey.
Michele nodded her head and left the room. A moment later, she came back with a half asleep Ron. His eyes widened, however, when he caught sight of Ginny. He ran towards his sister, only to have the same reaction as Hermione.
"I don't get it, Professor. How come we made it through the first light or should I say barrier, yet them two weren't able to?" asked a confused Tiffany.
"Easy. They will cause harm." said Draco. He glared at the lights, or more likely, the ring on Ginny's finger. "She should have listened to me. I told her to get rid of it. It will only hurt her in the end."
"Do you know what's going on?" asked Dumbledore.
He nodded his head, "Yes and no." He walked ever so slowly towards Ginny's bed. He passed by the first barrier and soon exceeded the second one. Everyone looked at him, amazed. He soon was by Ginny's side and yanked the ring off her finger. The red and green lights disappeared, and Ginny landed on her bed, still deep asleep. Draco pocketed the ring before turning around and leaving the surprised group in his wake.
